Hi All,

Have enjoyed reading all the posts on this forum, some really good stuff here. Hopefully I'll have a track worthy of sharing with you all in the not too distant future!

To the point of this thread, hearing protection. How many of you wear filters when you play out? I'm aware there are a lot of well known DJ's who don't use filters, yet play every weekend in clubs/festivals around with the world with massive sound systems. IMO hearing loss isn't something that's taken seriously until it's to late. A recent case that comes to mind was Axwell mentioning he had developed tinnitus during an interview last year and has since started wearing filters.

Bit of a less exciting subject to bring up, but would appreciate your thoughts and advice - especially from anyone who has symptoms.

Good topic! About 2 years ago I lost all the high and mid frequencies from my left ear after one night of really blasting the monitor. I pretty much thought it was gone forever and that my dreams had just gone out the window. Nearly two months later somehow it came back, but I have a constant faint ringing more in my left, but some in both ears. I now wear ear plugs anytime I go out to clubs and when I play. Scary stuff, wish that I'd worn ear plugs way sooner!

Very good thread, i think it's important to wear ear plugs when you play especially, like as said above, people only realise how important it is until its too late.

If this is your profession then it's vital.

Good thread. :)

Good to hear you guys take it seriously! I've had tinnitus since I was really young, but it has definitely gotten more noticeable over the years. I don't work in clubs, so I haven't bothered to buy filters, but it's something I'd get right onto if I did decide to go that way.

How do you find the sound quality? Do you still get that club vibe when wearing filters?
