Hi all

I posted my 1st track on soundcloud yesterday and a guy got in touch because he wants to use it on a cd. After I stopped jumping round the room I realised I didn't have a clue how to go about protecting my property and could do with some advice before I try and do a deal.
I wasn't expecting this because my track is only a night school project I just finished and I haven't even mastered it properly!

Look at the owner name(try to google it), label post address and previous releases. Be careful coz you may get nothing from sales....
To make contract legal you have to send letter(with contract) by mail to the label office. So, if label have no address it would be not possible)

cheers for that. That was my worry, me doing something stupid like signing the rights to my track away!

The label is fairly new but they are selling on Juno and several other sites and they were recommended by another artist so I'm thinking they can't be that bad.
