i want to buy the full version of ableton, though im not sure what exactly to get, either the Ableton live 8 or Ableton live 8 Suite.
And should i buy the downloadable ableton or buy the box to install it with a Disc ?

I'd get the download copy for sure, the box doesn't really add you anything and just takes longer to get since its posted and costs more! Ableton is clearly laid out you really don't need a manual and the forums are very good if you do get stuck.
Personally I'd get the normal version rather than the suite, but its personal preference at the end of the day. I have a lot of respect and a secret envy of people who buy suite and never use anything else: they can get great results and the suite stuff is good, plus it works really well built into the DAW so you never find yourself wasting hours because you cant automate the slider in some reaktor ensemble or something like that.

If you buy the box version on the web you will immediately get a link to download the s/w - any added live packs (e.g. suite). I have to admit that I don't really use the manual I got in the box, but I did get some cool sickers ;)
It also depends on if you are collaborating with others. Some of my friends have the suite version and if they use instruments that don't come with the normal version (e.g. operator), and your collaborators do, you won't be able to open their projects to work on them.
Just a thought.
Also, you can authorize your s/w on at least two computers. I think up to three.
