To all the forum users! Does anyone have experience producing as a group, or working with other people on tracks??? I've been producing as part of a duo for half a year now, and have realized there are pros and cons. Pros include having a larger network of people to send the track out to, having more new ideas to work with, and the combination of influences and experiences that everyone in the group has. Cons might include having disagreements about certain elements of the track, schedules not matching and the eventual moving on of the group members (could be a pro or con)
Im wondering what everyones thoughts are!

Hey there Erezk! I've been working in studio situations with duo type situations for many years and its always different depending on who it is and how the personalities match up. I'll give you one word of advice, clear comunication (like in any relationship) is so important. A lot of arguments start just from simple misunderstanding of what the other person is trying to explain. A lot of times your both actually agreeing on the same thing. lol. Try to get familiar with each others terminologies as well as possible.

If it just simply comes down to one of you likes, the other dislikes....you have to just be fair and respectful of each others opinions. Create a scale of how important that sound is to you. 1-10 and if you can or can't live with out that sound. If you just can not agree, simply save a seperate version of the tune with\without that element you can always go back to it later. Anyhow, these are just a couple thoughts that come to mind.
