My Traktorheads,
So I made the move to Traktor Pro. I am trying to figure the best way to set up my song folders. I have my songs divided by genre as I like to play out that way.
I tried adding folders as 'playlists' but Traktor doesn't seem to update when I buy new music and add it to the genre folder where the 'playlist' is derived from. Any method in traktor that will automatically update and recognize new tracks that I've added into each genre folder?
Thanks.

I just use itunes to manage my playlists... I then drag the most relevant of those playlists onto the F-key shortcuts and play from there, traktor updates the playlists on each launch...

I am looking into using the itunes option, at the moment, i have playlist folders (for years - e.g 2008, 2009, 2010) then in those folders i have playlists for each month (jan, feb, mar)
I like to keep my stuff like this as i tend to sort my music out once a month, and when i'm playing i can quite easily see what's my latest new music and older stuff.
Hope that helps, i'll peek at kris' method though as it may be better that way, i tend to do the same in itunes,
hope that helps.

Tom,
Good organization there. Wish I had the attention span to do that, but I don't. lol. I jsut break mine up by genre. Only problem I have with itunes is that it won't import the key information. I will go through and put the key in, but the itunes (unless I create a playlist from the itunes link in traktor. But it won't update that way) won't display the key information in Traktor. i am still searching for an optimal way. lol

Yes mate, I'm in the same boat, have just started using MIK - one workaround I have found is to get it to stick the Key in the Comments field, and overwrite whatever's there... you can also customize your deck layout so that the comment is shown on the deck... works quite well..

Hi guys,
I have switched to traktor for studio mixes at the moment until I am happy with taking it live.
This was one of my biggest issues with traktor, How best to organise my music.
My CD case used to be organised in to genre but as I tend to play across the board from deep to techno this became rather anoying so I have binned by cd's ready to burn them again.
In the meantime I am using iTunes/Traktor to get my music sorted and using MIK to add the Key in to the comments.
I have now set up playlists in iTunes for all the Key's 1A,1B etc.
This for me is best for DJing as I dont mix in a set genre but more in a harmonic key which adds to the feel of a set.
